One hour from Palermo airport, with a direct train from Palermo that many guests prefer. Civil ceremonies are celebrated at the Palazzo di Città. The old town is pedestrian and small, so everything happens on foot.

Cefalù is compact and photogenic in a way few towns are: a medieval centre pressed between an enormous rock, La Rocca, and a curve of sandy beach, with the twin towers of a UNESCO-listed Norman cathedral rising above the rooftops.
It works beautifully for couples who want both a historic ceremony and a barefoot sunset on the beach in the same evening. The old washhouse, the Porta Marina arch and the fishermen's beach are all within five minutes of each other.
